BAIC aprueba la entrada de ocho nuevos socios

BAIC aprueba la entrada de ocho nuevos socios

La Junta Directiva de BAIC – Basque Artificial Intelligence Center aprobó el 21 de diciembre la entrada de ocho nuevos socios que ya forman parte del ecosistema vasco de la Inteligencia Artificial. Se trata de Aratubo, Fagor Arrasate, Fundación Tekniker, Ideko, Ikerlan, Mondragon Goi Eskola, Ulma Medical Technologies y Universidad de Deusto.

Estas ocho empresas, centros tecnológicos, centros de conocimiento y centros formativos se suman a los socios fundadores que pusieron en marcha BAIC en julio del 2021 (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM), CAF, Deusto Seidor, Euskaltel, Gestamp, Hupi Ibérica, Iberdrola, Inzu Group, ITP Aero, Mondragon Corporación, Petronor, Sener, SPRI, Tecnalia, Versia y Vicomtech).

La entrada de esta primera remesa de nuevos socios es uno de los objetivos marcados desde BAIC, como recuerda su Directora General, Laura Marrón: “El primer paso para lograr el objetivo de posicionamiento de Euskadi en Inteligencia Artificial es construir un ecosistema que tenga BAIC como punto de encuentro y referencia para todos aquellos agentes de la IA. También es importante que sirva para poner en contacto y potenciar sinergias entre demandantes, desarrolladores, centros tecnológicos, agentes de conocimiento y administraciones públicas”.

Entre los objetivos a corto-medio plazo de BAIC figuran realizar un informe de situación y recopilar indicadores que permitan conocer, observar e identificar los agentes y capacidades de IA en Euskadi, para poder desarrollarlas y ponerlas en valor. Además, BAIC está identificando los agentes relevantes a nivel estatal y europeo en materia de IA y quiere ser un referente en redes internacionales para formar parte activa de la definición de normativa y estandarización de los procesos de Inteligencia Artificial y estrategia del dato.

Precisamente, en lo que se refiere a la estrategia del dato, el propósito de BAIC está orientado a dar valor a los datos, que son la clave del aprendizaje de las tecnologías de inteligencia artificial, consiguiendo datos de calidad que permitan impulsar la industria e identificar nuevos modelos de negocio. Gracias a ello, se podrán “desarrollar nuevos casos de uso industriales y visibilizar las capacidades de IA que tienen los agentes de nuestro ecosistema, identificando proyectos de colaboración que den lugar a nuevas aplicaciones”, según recalca la Directora General de BAIC.

Otro de los objetivos está centrado en impulsar la formación en materia de Inteligencia Artificial. Como recuerda Laura Marrón: “Estamos centrados en el impulso y promoción del talento, evaluando y completando los itinerarios formativos y trabajando en cómo crear, retener y atraer ese talento a Euskadi”. A todos estos propósitos se une trabajar en la divulgación y visibilización para conseguir que Euskadi sea referente en Inteligencia Artificial.
