Business Case

Glaucoma is one of the predominant pathologies in ophthalmology, whose monitoring is necessary to follow the patient’s development. It was from this situation that the program Teleglaucoma, designed to monitor patients with different types of glaucoma, was conceived at the University Hospital of Araba. In order to automate the referral of these patients and to plan their appointments, the CATALYS project was created in collaboration with the BIOARABA Health Research Institute.

Objectives

The aim was to develop a medical diagnostic support tool that allows the clinician to: view patient data and clinical images from different appointments predict patient referral (teleglaucoma, medical treatment or surgery) based on clinical data and fundus OCT image If the patient continues in the teleglaucoma circuit, design their Follow-up Plan.
