Sener – SHM, Structural Behaviour Analysis and Forecasting for Bridges and Viaducts
Sener
Sector: Mobility
Business Case
SHM is a platform with a structural health monitoring system for viaducts located on a high-speed rail network. In addition, the system performs forecasts of the maintenance needs of the viaducts.
Objetivos
Minimise maintenance costs by eliminating the need for personnel to travel to the network viaducts. In many cases, it is unnecessary for personnel to travel as maintenance was not needed.
Use case
The system is based on Distributed Fibre Optic Sensors (DFOS) together with On-Premise machines that are responsible for acquiring and processing the deformations and vibrations of the viaduct, as well as a series of cloud services that collect and transform the data into useful information for the rail network operator.
Infraestructura
Cloud and On Premise (dockerised microservices)
Tecnologías utilizadas
Deep learning
Datos utilizados
Deformation and vibration data of a real monitored bridge
Recursos utilizados
Bridge and Viaduct Specialist, Data Scientist, Data & IoT Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Front-Back Programmers.
Dificultades y aprendizaje
Communication-understanding between the technical personnel applied to the field of bridges and viaducts, and the personnel with expertise in more digital technologies (data scientists, programmers, etc.). Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the sensor and its correct processing
KPIs (impacto en el negocio y métricas del modelo)
Reduction in the number of inspections and therefore maintenance costs required on the element of infrastructure
