What is BAIC and why should I be interested?
We are the Basque Center for Artificial Intelligence (BAIC), a public-private partnership launched in 2021 by the Basque Government in collaboration with a team of organizations of varying sizes. Today, we comprise over 130 organizations, ranging from SMEs to large corporations and public institutions. We connect the entire ecosystem to accelerate AI adoption and position the Basque Country as a leader in this technology, offering a space where organizations can become more competitive and stay at the forefront of artificial intelligence.
What type of Artificial Intelligence do we promote?
At BAIC, we promote applied, ethical, collaborative, and sovereign artificial intelligence. We drive both traditional AI technologies (advanced analytics, machine learning) and generative AI, always focusing on their practical adoption in companies and organizations. We are committed to responsible AI, aligned with European regulations and values, built through collaboration among stakeholders and strengthening technological autonomy, generating a real impact on the competitiveness and development of the Basque Country’s economic and social fabric.

What requirements do I have to meet to be a partner entity?
To become a BAIC member organization, you must have a tax identification number (CIF) in the Basque Country, demonstrate a certain level of expertise in artificial intelligence, and actively invest in this technology. As an association, BAIC operates according to its bylaws, which establish the criteria for membership and participation. If you have any questions about whether your organization meets the requirements, please contact our team, and we will analyze your case individually.
